The Dragon Boat Festival will take place in 2006 at
Kinsmen Beach, in Invermere. We anticipate this year's team registration to
climb to over 35 teams, competing in various categories of competition.
Originating in China, dragon boat racing has evolved into a modern day race
which features corporate and community teams racing over a 500 meter course.
Dragon boat racing is now the fastest growing water sport in the world, with
every major city in North America able to boast that it has a Dragon Boat
Festival as part of their summer event schedule. Team building is at the
heart of a good dragon boat race with 22 people working in synchronization,
paddling towards a common goal.
We invite your corporation or group of friends to enter a team into this
exciting and multi-cultural event. Come see how dragon boating can jump
start your summer and make it better than the last. Dragon Boating is
extremely user friendly and anyone young or old can quickly adapt to and
develop a passion for this sport.
Enjoy the camaraderie of your friends, neighbours or co-workers by putting
together a team for a friendly competition and/or teambuilding exercise. No
experience is necessary!
